POLICE OFFICERS

BOROUGH OF CATASAUQUA 

The Civil Service Commission is accepting applications from qualified candidates for entry-level officer positions in the Catasauqua Police Department.

Applications are, and will remain, available at the Municipal Building, 118 Bridge Street, Catasauqua, PA.  Completed applications, along with a non-refundable $35.00 processing fee, must be filed at the municipal building Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:50 PM, by Friday, August 21, 2009.  Candidates are advised that the written examination portion of the qualification process will be administered on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 9:00 AM.

Requirements:  U.S. Citizen; minimum of age 21; Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license; police academy training or associate degree in criminal justice or two years full-time experience as a police officer; residence within ten miles of the Borough within two years of appointment. 

A description of the requirements and duties of a Police Officer as well as all the components of the testing for Police Officer are contained in the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of which review copies are available at the Catasauqua Municipal Building. 

Benefits:  Civil Service status; starting salary of $41,132; medical and life insurance, paid holidays and vacation (contact the Borough Manager for details on benefits and the Police Bargaining Agreement).
